I keep losing ideas. A texture on a wall, a phrase I overhear, the particular way light falls across a room at 4pm. By the time I get anywhere I could do something with them, they are gone. Creative Habit is my answer to that. It is a private shoebox for creative people, built on one belief: catch the spark now, and find it again later.
The idea comes from Twyla Tharp's creative process, where every project begins with a literal cardboard box that she fills with scraps, clippings, and notes as inspiration arrives. Creative Habit turns that box into something you always have with you. Open it and you are ready to capture in under two seconds. Snap a photo, jot a note, record a voice memo, and it is saved. There is no feed, no likes, no followers, and no pressure to organize. The absence of an audience is the whole point, because that is what lets you capture honestly, including the half formed and the rough.
Everything stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is tracked, and you can export all of it whenever you want. The real magic is not the capturing, it is the rediscovery: stumbling onto an old scrap at exactly the right moment through shuffle, on this day, and your favorites. Creative Habit is quiet and low stakes by design, a place to keep the raw material that every creative habit is built from. I hope it helps you hold onto a few more of your sparks.

Privacy Policy for Creative Habit

Creative Habit is built around a simple promise: what you capture is yours, and it stays on your device. This policy explains what that means in practice.
The short version
Creative Habit does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data. There are no accounts, no logins, and no servers that receive your content. Everything you capture lives only on your device.
What we collect
Nothing. We do not operate analytics, advertising, tracking, or any third party service that gathers information about you or your activity in the app. We have no way to see what you capture.
What stays on your device
All of your content, including photos, text notes, voice memos, tags, and favorites, is stored in the app's private storage on your device. It is never uploaded to us or to anyone else as part of normal use.
Device permissions
Creative Habit asks for a few permissions so it can do its job. Each is used only on your device to create your scraps:
- Camera: to take photos inside the app.- Microphone: to record voice memos.
- Photo library: to import existing photos you choose.

Granting a permission does not send anything to us. When you import a photo, we remove embedded location metadata from your copy to protect your privacy.
Sharing and export
Creative Habit includes an export feature so you can back up or move your own data. Exporting creates a file on your device and hands it to your operating system's share sheet. Where that file goes is entirely your choice. Anything you decide to share leaves the app under your control, not ours.
Data retention and deletion
Because your data lives only on your device, you are always in control of it. You can delete any item inside the app. Deleting the app removes its data from your device.
Children's privacy
Creative Habit is not directed to children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, regardless of age, because it does not collect personal information at all.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and post the new version at the same location. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.

Terms of Service for Creative Habit

Please read these terms before using Creative Habit. By downloading or using the app, you agree to them.
1. The app
Creative Habit is a private tool for capturing and rediscovering creative ideas. It runs on your device and stores your content locally. It does not require an account.
2. License
We grant you a personal, non exclusive, non transferable, revocable license to use Creative Habit on devices you own or control, for your own personal use, subject to these terms and the rules of the app store you downloaded it from.
3. Your content
You own everything you capture in Creative Habit. Your content is stored on your device, and you are responsible for it, including keeping your own backups. The app provides an export feature to help you do that. Because your content is local, we cannot recover it for you if your device is lost, reset, or damaged, or if you delete the app.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Creative Habit to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, or to store content you are not permitted to keep. You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits.
5. Purchases
If the app offers any paid features or purchases, those are handled by your app store, and that store's terms and refund policies apply to them.
6. No warranty
Creative Habit is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose and non infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error free, or free of data loss.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, Creative Habit.
8. Changes
We may update the app and these terms from time to time. If we change these terms, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms. We may also modify or discontinue features at our discretion.
9. Termination
You may stop using Creative Habit at any time by deleting it. These terms remain in effect for any use you have already made of the app.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of your place of residence to the extent required, and otherwise by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer operates, without regard to conflict of law rules.
