Owen is our muse — a real animal whose vet records, medications, vaccination dates, and "wait, when was his last appointment?" moments lived across three different places, none of which were findable when we actually needed them. The reminder buried in someone's calendar. The vaccination card folded into a glove compartment. The med schedule on a sticky note that fell behind a desk.
Anyone with a pet knows this filing system. The animal you love most in the world deserves better organization than a screenshot from 2022.
So we built Owen — a pet care app that keeps everything about your animals in one place, on your phone, ready when you actually need it.
One profile per pet. Multiple animals in the household? They each get their own record — furry, feathered, scaly, all welcome.
Smart reminders. Vet appointments, grooming, medications, vaccinations, birthdays, gotcha days. Set them once, get pinged at the right time.
Complete health records. Vaccinations, medical history, test results, treatment notes, important documents — all stored, all in one tap.
Built for the moments that matter. New vet visit? One-tap email of the full record. Boarding kennel asking for vaccination proof? Same. Emergency? Critical info on the lock screen, not buried four folders deep in your inbox.
Your data stays yours. Owen doesn't collect any data from the app. What you log lives on your device, full stop.

At Owen, we take your privacy and the privacy of your pet's information extremely seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data in our cloud-based pet care management service.
Information Collection and Storage
Owen is a subscription-based service that uses secure cloud storage to provide cross-device synchronization, automatic backups, and enhanced storage capacity for your pet care data.
Data we collect and store:
- Account information (email address for authentication)
- Pet profiles and photos
- Medical records and health information
- Appointment schedules and reminders
- Veterinary contact information
- Notes and documents you add
- Subscription and payment information (processed by Apple/Google)
Data we do NOT collect:
- Browsing history outside the app
- Location data (unless you manually enter addresses)
- Device identifiers beyond what's necessary for authentication
- Any data unrelated to pet care management
- Personal information beyond what's necessary for account management
Data Storage and Security
Cloud Storage
- Primary Storage: Data is encrypted and stored securely on Firebase/Google Cloud Platform servers
- Device Storage: Local copies are cached on your device for offline access and faster performance
- Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit and at rest using industry-standard encryption
Device Backups
- iOS: Your app data may be included in iCloud backups if you have iCloud backup enabled, governed by Apple's privacy policy
- Android: Your app data may be included in Google Drive backups or other third-party backup services you have enabled, governed by those services' privacy policies

Cloud Infrastructure
- Firebase/Google Cloud Platform: We use Google's cloud infrastructure for secure data storage, synchronization, and authentication
- Apple/Google Authentication: We may offer sign-in options through Apple ID or Google accounts
Platform Services
- Apple App Store/Google Play: Subscription payments and management are handled by Apple or Google
- Apple Services (iOS): iCloud backup integration (if you enable it)
- Google Services (Android): Backup services and authentication (if you enable them)
Communication Services

Data Sharing and Use
We do not share, sell, or use your pet data for advertising, analytics, or any commercial purposes beyond providing our pet care management service.
Limited data sharing only occurs when:
- You explicitly choose to share records via the app's sharing features (email, etc.)
- Required by law or to protect our rights (we would notify you unless prohibited by law)
- You provide explicit consent for a specific purpose
- Necessary to provide technical support (with your permission)
Notifications
- Local Notifications: Generated on your device for medication and appointment reminders
- Push Notifications: Cloud-based notifications enable reminders across all your devices
- Email Notifications: Account-related communications only (you can opt out of non-essential emails)
International Data Processing
To provide our services efficiently, your data may be processed and stored on servers located in different countries, including the United States. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers.
Children's Privacy
Owen is intended for pet owners and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
Your Rights and Control
You have the right to:
- Access: View all data we have about you and your pets
- Correct: Update or modify your information at any time through the app
- Delete: Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Export: Request a copy of your data in a portable format
- Opt-out: Unsubscribe from non-essential email communications

Data Retention
- Active Subscriptions: Your data is retained as long as your subscription is active
- Cancelled Subscriptions: After cancellation, your data is retained for 30 days to allow for reactivation, then permanently deleted
- Account Deletion: When you request account deletion, all data is permanently removed within 30 days
- Legal Requirements: We may retain certain data longer if required by law

The App provides reminder notifications for appointments, medications, and other pet care tasks. While we strive for reliability, we cannot guarantee that all notifications will be delivered on time. You remain responsible for your pet's care schedule.

All content, features, and functionality of Owen are owned by us and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Owen and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use or inability to use the App.
